A little known secret to working with wood is when you start select easy woodworking plans. Meaning don’t over tax yourself and become frustrated with a project that maybe a bit out of reach in the beginning. I am sure that is sounds like a no brainer but you might be surprised at how many people try to run before they can walk or even crawl. It is very easy to find simple woodworking projects that will both teach you and give a finished result that will impress both you and your friends. It is import that you learn as you work so you can progress.

If you look around the internet you are going to surely find free woodworking plans. It is not hard to do. However a word of caution with these websites that offer free dresser plans, free shed plans and other free plans. These plans may and often times are not complete or just downright wrong. If you are going to look for free woodworking plans than I would strongly recommend you look in woodworking magazines. These plans are often very good and complete. The down side is you are very limited to what you will be able to do as they only will put projects in that take up just a few pages.
I have search around and tried many different things. As I mentioned most free plans I found offered just didn’t work and the plans offered in woodworking magazines such as Fine Wooding and Wood Working Magazine were limited.So in my searches I decided to try and few downloads offered on the internet. These were a type of course that offered step by step instruction detailed and easy woodworking plans like building toys, plans for tables and bed like bunk beds and Murphy beds plans.
I found and few and they were good but my favorite course offered was Ted’s Woodworking. This was a cut above the rest.

If you are a beginner or have done some woodworking you will find these plans easy-to-follow as the instructions are very clearly written. The woodworking plans are straightforward so they are not complicated at all. Even if you are a total newcomer to woodworking you will simply be able to master all the techniques that are needed and the woodworking skills very quickly by following the concise and clear instructions.
There is only one drawback that we could find and that being with 16,000 woodworking plans you are bound to get some which look a little disorganized but that is understandable as it is very difficult to place all these plans into their proper categories. Secondly, it might take you a little longer to do the downloads on because of the size of them. But the members area include an option to upgrade to the DVD so you can save time on downloading.
So the bottom line is if you are going to start woodworking I and I highly recommend you do. Start to learn with detailed instruction or easy woodworking plans. If you are an experienced wood worker working with details plans will just speed you along.
